#4

This week I did the Facebook social media project, I liked ten engineering orientated companies and posted a comment on each of their walls. It was very hard to have any “business” conversation on the walls most of the comments on the walls were along the lines of saying that they liked the company and its products or that they hated it and would never do anymore business with them. I feel that trying to make any connections on Facebook is not a good idea, unless you have a very professional profile. Other forms of social media can be very helpful to you as a future worker, the faster an employer can find information about you as long as it is positive information the more likely you are to land a job. I was rather surprised that Facebook was actually running peoples relationships, I thought that being able to stay in close contact would make things better.

MBTI

My MBTI didn’t really surprise me I am an INTP Type person. INTP personality type people analyze what things around them, for me this is very true I look at things very closely and can see things that most other people would miss. I like to look at things until I can understand how it might work. It also says that INPT people are independent and curious, which is also true for me. Over all I thought that the test was pretty close but I can see myself in other personality types as well.

Bucket List

There are a lot of things that I would like to do before I graduate from Iowa State University and there are lot more things that I would like to do before I die.
This is a list of things that I would like to do before I graduate:
1.      Join at least one club or organization.
2.      Get good grades
3.      Get a job and make some money
4.      Meet lots of new people
5.      Keep in good physical shape
6.      Try all the pizzas at Jeff’s Pizza
7.      Get a license to fly
8.      Study Abroad
9.      Get an internship

After I graduate there are a million more things I would like to do:
1.      I want to get married
2.      I want to find a well-paying job that I enjoy
3.      I want to travel
4.      I want to have kids
5.      I want to buy an air plane or helicopter
6.      I want to go sky diving
7.      I want to invent something that changes the world
8.      I want to write a couple songs
9.      I want to go skiing in the Swiss Alps
10.   I want to be happy
Those are a couple of things that I would like to do someday. Hopeful I can accomplish all of these things and more in my life. It’s Important to know what you want to get out of life because if you don’t you become happy with watching from the sidelines and when you are near the end you don’t want to look back on things with regret.

#1

During my senior year at my high school I decided that I would go out for football, even though I’m really not that good. I went to almost all the practices and morning lifting. I knew that I wouldn’t get much playing time before I even stepped on to the field but I gave every practice my all and the underclass-men followed my example and gave the first string a run for their money.
I got more playing time than I expected, I was on a very talented team so the coach was able to put in almost all of the players. I played mostly on special teams like the kick off team and punt return team. With my lack of experience I was very happy with the amount of playing time I got. I was happy just to be part of the team.
One night we were doing extremely well in the game and the coach decided to let everyone play positions they had no experience in. I got put in as a running back that night. I had never practiced the position; I had never even expected to ever tough the ball during a game. The quarterback called the play and a few seconds later I realized that I wasn’t going to be the leading blocker; I was going to run the ball. I ran the ball two or three times that night for a total of eight yards, I even got a first down before time ran out. Even though I only got eight yards that night I felt like king of the world, it’s something I will never forget.
To have a successful first semester I know that I will have to give every day my all and never slack off in class. Even though I don’t really understand the flow of college yet I have to keep studying even when I don’t want to that way when the ball comes my way I will be able to score.
